Question about creating a new folder in explorer. (1 Viewer)

hi all -

my windows explorer is doing something trippy. whenever i create a new folder, it doesn't automatically highlight the "new folder" and allow me to change the name.

instead it simply creates the folder. i have to select, then rename it.

any ideas? i think this only started once i upgraded my internet explorer to 6.0. i'm running win98se.

I noticed odd behaviour after 'upgrading' to IE6 on Windows 2000. It wasn't quite the same problem, but similar. When a folder was created or deleted in the right pane, the left pane wouldn't update automatically - and sometimes not at all.

In the end I gave up and regressed back to IE 5.01 SP2 which is still the most stable versions available IMO. IE6 also caused a slight lag in response when Windows Explorer started up.

I figured I could live without print preview on web pages, which was really the only thing IE6 had that was of any use to me.
