According to a few on-line retailers in the UK, Queen's "Greatest Video Hits 2" will be released October 27th (that'd be the UK date anyway.) So since the other Queen discs have been released within the same month in America as the UK, we can fully expect to buy it around the same time.

A tracklisting has not been confirmed yet. One was posted a week or so ago but Brian May said on his web site that it was "old" (this tracklisting picked up with "Hot Space" and ended with "A Kind of Magic" if I remember correctly.) So I guess they're still working out what's what.

Some time ago official word came that there would be NO "Video Hits 3" DVD, that "VH2" would simply include the best bits off of the "Flix 3" VHS. Now Brian has said that as they're deciding on the tracklisting for VH2, they're still trying to determine what to "hold back", presumably for, yes, a "Video Hits 3" DVD. Hell, now *I* am confused.

Anyway, Brian also stated that they're nearly done with the surround remixes (yep, DTS again!) and, as with all the other DVD's, it'll be a 2 disc set. I wonder what extras will be on the 2nd disc (other than some bonus videos)? Queen have announced that they're looking for the kids who played Queen from "The Miracle" video so that might be an indication. Ross McCall (sp?) who played the young Freddie, had a role in HBO's "Band of Brothers" mini-series (there's a fun fact eh?)

Oh yeah, "The Game" DVD-Audio won an award recently (the 6th annual DVD Awards I think) for best DVD-A of the year. That's two awards in a row (the other being for "A Night at the Opera.") Way to go guys! Anyone taking bets on which Queen album gets the DVD-A treatment next?

EDIT: Go to http://www.brianmay.com/brian/brianssb/brianssb.html to read Brian's comments on the work being done for the DVD(s). He mentions that both he and Roger will (again) be recording commentary tracks, amongst other things.

    Cool, Mike

I sure hope that the video quality is better this time around. While the audio was great, the tilt and scanned WS looked REAL bad and the color saturation was WAY too high. And it wasn't just the source elements as the VHS comps. from 10 years back looked so much better.
However, Wembley was an amazing set, so fingers are crossed.

Once again, as always now, IMHO, but what do I know...

Seeing how the Wembley DVD was full frame, I *think* Queen have learned their lesson regarding OAR.

Also, picture quality HAS to be better for this one. The videos are much more recent than on GVH1.

    Dude, that is SO kickass!

The live version of "Staying Power" from Milton Keynes is AMAZING!

It does make you wonder what they'll fill "Video Hits 3" up with though.....

    "Innuendo"
    "I'm Going Slightly Mad"
    "Headlong"
"These Are the Days of Our Lives" (both versions, 1 with animation, the other...not, lol.)

I would mention "The Show Must Go On" but they did say they would only be releasing "proper" videos, not edited together clip fests (ala most of what the Torpedo Twins have done) so I don't know what they'll do.

The same can be said for "Made In Heaven" as well, no "proper" videos were filmed. Unless you count the BFI clips, aka "Made In Heaven: The Films." Those did get a DVD release of their own but that really wasn't made available outside of Europe so maybe they'll be put on there.

Plus there's "No One But You." Then you have all the Queen+ videos....Five's "We Will Rock You", Wyclef Jean's "Another One Bites the Dust", Vanguard's "Flash", Elton John's "The Show Must Go On" at the Bejart ballet, the "rah" mix of "Under Pressure" and so on.

I'm sure there's enough "making of" material for a 2nd disc too.

Michael, thanks for this most excellent news. I was simply hoping for all the proper videos (making sure to include Scandal, Back Chat and Calling Girls) and boy, did I get more! Wow, indeed. [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

As for Volume 3, I would think they might fill it up with the solo material, which wouldn't be enough for separate dvd's. It could include:

    01. Man on Fire-1984 (from Roger Taylor's Strange Frontier)
    02. Strange Frontier-1984 (from Roger Taylor's Strange Frontier)
    03. I Was Born to Love You-1985 (from Freddie Mercury's Mr. Bad Guy)
    04. Made in Heaven-1985 (from Freddie Mercury's Mr. Bad Guy)
    05. Living on my Own-1985 (from Freddie Mercury's Mr. Bad Guy)
    06. The Great Pretender-1987 (from Freddie Mercury's The Great Pretender)
    07. The Golden Boy-1988 (from Freddie Mercury's The Great Pretender)
    08. Innuendo-1991
    09. I'm Going Slightly Mad-1991
    10. Headlong-1991
    11. These are the Days of our Lives-1991
    12. Driven by You-1991 (single from Brian May)
    13. No-One but You-1995 (last Queen single and video)

Plus, there could be other videos from Brian's and Roger's solo albums: Fun in Space, Starfleet, Happiness?, Back to the Light, Electric Fire and Another World that I'm not aware of. There might even be a video for Thank God It's Christmas-1984. Who knows.

I'd rather they not include any remix videos from outside artists or any live material that's already available on other dvd's like The Concert for Freddie.

They probably recorded/filmed hours and hours of footage during the Innuendo sessions considering Freddie's health. It'd be nice to see as much of that as possible. Maybe a two-hour documentary on the making of that final record.

Oh, heck... I just realized the Innuendo videos were missing... "Days" is the saddest and "Slightly" is 1 of their best...

TerryW, all of Freddie's solo videos have been released on DVD already (both in the box set and individually) so I don't think they'll be included.

However, I'd LOVE to see Brian's and Roger's stuff on a 2nd disc.

It's unfortunate that they didn't include the Innuendo Videos but Thankfully Queen is releasing ALL of their videos in a wonderfull collection and I hope that the third Bideo Collection will be just as wonderful as the first on was and the second one will be.

Michael, do you happen to have a complete rundown of their solo videos?

    Brian's "proper" videos (which are hi and only him, not charity things or where he's just the guitarist, etc);

    Starfleet
    Resurrection
Too Much Love Will Kill You
    Driven By You
    Back to the Light
    Last Horizon

There were no videos made for his "Another World" album unfortunately.

I'd also hope that his "Live at the Brixton Academy" concert gets a DVD release eventually as it was available on VHS and laserdisc (not in the U.S though.)

    Roger's "proper" videos;

    Man On Fire
    Strange Frontier
    Nazis 1994
    Foreign Sand
    Happiness

There were no videos made for his "Electric Fire" album. Again, Roger has his "Live at the Cyberbarn" concert released on VHS (in Japan only I believe) so an UNEDITED version would be nice to see on DVD.

    The Cross videos (for those that don't know, The Cross was Roger's side project for which he was the lead singer.);

    Cowboys & Indians
    Power To Love
    New Dark Ages
    Shove It
    Heaven For Everyone

The Cross has a few shows in the can, such as their performance at the Montreux festival.

If Queen productions decided to compile all of Brian/Roger/Cross stuff on DVD, it'd make a nice 2 disc set (there's plenty of other stuff available too, Roger's "I Wanna Testify" from Top of the Pops, a Cross concert that aired on German TV amongst other goodies they could include. I just don't see a Brian only DVD making any sense right now but if they combined all of 'em together, that might attract more attention.)

I like the cover, but I would have preferred they went with this photograph. Would have made a nice matching set, methinks [IMG]

Ricardo, I *completely* agree with you. However some have expressed a concern with people confusing GVH1 with the new set as the photos are so similar.
