After the award winning DVD-A release of "A Night at the Opera", Queen are now looking towards their next major release for the format.
Taken from Queen's official web site, www.queenonline.com
"Queen and Brian May engineer Justin Shirley-Smith will be commencing work on a new DTS audio 5.1 surround version of "The Game" on 21st October for release next year as a DVDA."
Personally, I would not have selected "The Game" or any post 70's albums for DVD-A for a while. Albums like "Queen II" or "A Day at the Races" are far better choices for 5.1 mixes but alas, I'm not the decision maker. Clearly Queen are releasing "The Game" not because of it's sonic quality (it is rather flat sounding) but because the album was one of their biggest hits (especially in America.)

    Hey, I'll take it!

Hopefully Brian May will go back to most of the Queen catalog and remaster in DVDA.

Michael, thanks for sharing the knowledge. I would love to hear "Another One Bites the Dust" in high-resolution stereo.

Micahel, that sounds good, but why oh why would they not release that on DVD-Audio too? A Queen compilation on DVD-Audio would have a welcome place in my home. [IMG]

So, the DVD is of music videos (a la MTV)? I didn't realise they had so many.
Last night I watched my new DVD of Marillion videos. Cheesy stuff. It's fun to watch one of your favorite bands surrounded by bad special effects while overexaggerating their singing (like pointing at the camera and other posturing).

Sorry, I couldn't help laughing at that song.
Not a favorite album of mine, but it's better than nothing.

I think it's a better idea of mixing the regular albums in 5.1 instead of compilation albums. Some have suggested that "The Game" was chosen as the 2nd release because half of the albums tracks have already been given the DTS treatment courtesy of the "video hits" DVD coming out this month.
