Hmm... I've used a couple. One as a replacement for a driver in a friend's JBL passive sub cabinet (it was an 8" DVC).
He only listened to it at moderate volume levels, and after about 2 weeks the spider was almost completely detached from the cone/voice voil assembly, thus rendering it useless.
It sounded just *okay* while it was in there, but it sure didn't last long.
Another friend of mine put a couple of their coax 6x9's in his car. For car-fi, they didn't actually sound half bad. He hasn't had any problems with those.
Pyramid IS pretty much scraping the bottom of the barrel as far as drivers go, though.

I would stay away from pyramid & go for something like a shiva, dayton dvc 12" or tempest & you would get much much better results

I don't have Pyramid subs I have an 8" woofer not subwoofer
and a 1" dome tweeter in each of my 5 cabnets in a suround system.
PS: just received Tempest today.
