Putting together your own mini system (1 Viewer)

Not even sure if this is possible. Here's the req's:

1. two bookshelf speakers
2. small, all-in-one unit to play CDs and MP3s

Perhaps another way to ask is: what do you need to add if you have a cd player and two bookshelf speakers to get it to work?

You need a receiver, or an integrated amp. These incorporate a pre-amp (which lets you adjust volume) and amplifiers(to power the speakers). A receiver is just an integrated amp that also has a radio.

Then you connect your CD player to the receiver, and your speakers to that.
