I guess this trailer has left many speechless.

Trailer did nothing for me. I don't think Sandler looks natural doing this kind of role. Everytime he yells all I hear is "Somebody get the kid a happy meal"

the trailer left much to be desired. although boogie nights and magnolia trailers werent that great, and i think they are great movies, especially boogie nights. i'll definitely see it. i'll bet its a case of good movie, bad trailer. you dont win best director at cannes with a crappy movie. simple as that. pta rules.

I saw the trailer in theaters before any of the teasers and I must say that compared to the teasers the trailer is a work of genius. The teasers make this look about as entertaining as a Straub-Huillet film, at least the trailer has a couple of "jokes" in it.

Certainly looks to be different. Since it comes from Anderson, it's worth seeing theatrically. Too bad it'll break my vow to never see a Sandler film [IMG]

And if you listen really close , you can hear Jason Whyte screaming that this isnt coming out fast enough. Was i the only person who got Shelley Duvall singing the end song?.

This trailer is just what I needed.

I loved the Magnolia Teaser, I think, more than the actual trailer.

I don't remember the Boogie Nihgts trailer (since they're not on the DVD).

Seeing Phil Hoffman yell "Shutup! Shutup! Shut! Shut! Shut! Shut! Shutup!"

    Classic PTA dialogue.

I think I will go see this in the theaters. It looks better than Mr. Deeds.

I have enjoyed all of PTA's films. After seeing Boogie Nights I knew that he was going to be a director to watch. I loved the trailer for Magnolia! I downloaded it from the net and watched it over and over. This trailer didn't have the same impact on me, but it does look interesting. I agree with the earlier post about the scene with Phill Hoffman...classic! I look forward to this movie and love the fact that PTA makes the movie he wants to make. I don't have a problem with Adam Sandler, but I can say that I've hated most of his movies. I do think there are some typcast actors/actresses who can certainly do great work outside of their usual roles if given the chance. I'll wait until I see the movie to judge PTA's vision or his casting choices.

To be honest, I'm not sure what to make of it other than the film sounds somewhat bizzare. I'm not sure I'll see it yet.

If anyone wants to ask PTA questions about his film, Punch Drunk Love is going to be this years New York Film Festival centerpiece, and if the Boogie Nights NYFF screening I went to is any indication, PTA gives great Q&A.

I'm looking forward to seeing what kind of reaction viewers will have to Punch Drunk Love. I think a lot of people will be tricked into watching this expecting Mr. Deeds, and no doubt leave really pissed off.

    I can't wait.
