Pulp Fiction, written and directed by Quentin Tarantino (co-written by Roger Avery), signaled the arrival of a new cinematic voice. Sure, Tarantino had made a splash with his well-received Reservoir Dogs, but it was Pulp Fiction’s inventive, refreshing, violent, and hyper-cool expression of cinematic influences that placed Tarantino firmly in the rarified air of cinematic giants. Previously released on UHD in 2022, Paramount has added some interesting swag and a nice case combination to celebrate the film’s 30th anniversary (but no new special features in what is listed as an Amazon exclusive release). It’s handsome enough if you don’t own it and don’t mind some random image cards and a pop-up fold-out scene from the film in your packaging.

I picked this up today. Pulp Fiction was actually the last movie I saw projected on Film. An old local movie picture was showing classic films on film until they changed to digital. Pulp Fiction was the last one they showed.

Saw the statement that this was QT’s 3rd film, while I have always known it has his 2nd film. Checked IMDB and it turns out 70 minutes of QT’s first film have been found. I doubt QT considers that his first true film, which is of course Reservoir Dogs. I watched the disc over the weekend (2022 release) and it is a great looking transfer.

Inglourious Basterds was the second to last movie that I saw on a regular 35mm release.

Just making sure: all of these special features are already available on earlier editions, right?

Yes it looks like the previous UHD/BluRay has the supplements this 30th anniversary edition has.
