I liked how the played up the "See you in January" bit. The a similar bit with Monk at the end too. The bit with George Takei and the blue berries was a riot.
I liked Lassater's "taking command" when the Chief was giving birth, actually all of his stuff was pretty good this week, like when he's revealing that he thinks putting a woman in the Intrim Chief position, and she starts saying like "thanks honey" and "I love you" and he gets weirded out.
I really like James Roday, I think he's great as Shawn, good physical comedian as well as good comedic timing. I liked the "Magic Head" bit on the comic episode, and Shawn keeps reaching for Gus' head. Dule Hill is great as Gus, his interaction with Shawn/James is good, its like they've been friends for years.
Maggie Lawson is so hot.
Good stuff, I didn't realize it was the season finale, but I've only been catching the show off from iTunes.
It's strange. I think they should have waited until June. There is so much on now, that trying to compete against it just doesn't make sense to me. We're going to be burning PSYCH onto DVDs to watch later, I suppose. Otherwise, we'll never keep up with all the good stuff we're already watching.
That was a good episode. Silly and heartwarming. I agree. Other great shows, like Battlestar Galactica aren't doing as well since starting their new seasons in the fall with the rest of the big players. Meanwhile, The 4400 has remained a summer, 13-episode-per-season show, and as far as I know, is doing very well. We need something to watch in the summer, too, and I thought cable channels with their own production capabilities would be filling that need a little better than they are. Instead, they "test" a new show in the summer, and if it does well, they renew it and start the second season in the Fall. That makes no sense to me.
Still, though, great episode. I'm glad Psych has returned.
Good episode. Did anyone else have USA get dropped from their basic cable package at the beginning of the year? My roommate and I get the FCC-mandated basic under $10 package with the locals, the shopping networks, MSNBC, and Spike. The list included USA until sometime between when I left for Albany and came back. Fortunately USA had this week's episodes on their websites with ads. I hope they continue that next week.
Adam... If you still have Sci-Fi Channel (it's not in your list), there's going to be a mini-marathon of 'Psych' Wednesday night (2/14)...these 4 recent eps...7P to 11P (Eastern).
Why 'Psych' is on Sci-Fi, I have NO idea, but anything that'll help to spread the word (and boost the ratings) is great, IMO. I'm just afraid that the Sci-Fi angle might confuse new viewers into thinking that SS is supposed to be a real psychic. Going in with that pre-conceived (but totally erroneous) idea might significantly alter a new viewer's expectations of...and thus their ultimate satisfaction from...the show. It could easily backfire IF new viewers don't catch onto the real premise early on.
Both USA and Sci-Fi are Universal/NBC owned networks (along with NBC, UniversalHD, Sleuth and a couple others) and they do this stuff often. Just like ABC, Disney and ABCFamily do it at times since their owned by Disney (along with ESPN1/2).
I don't but I do, if you understand my meaning. I've managed to catch every episode this season so far from the USA broadcast anyway, albeit after varying periods of delay. Losing those channels just meant that I had to make fast friends with somebody with standard cable (oh yeah, the good stuff...) and a VCR.
I really enjoyed the courtroom episode, and when Gus was pretending to be a newman in front of the green screen, and shawn reminded him of screanmming like a little girl was funny.
Psych vegas/casino episode is suppose to air soon. I saw an advertisement for it when they were advertising Psych coming back in Jan.
