Wasnt it supposed to come out on tuesday? Now its schedule for April 1st
I swear this game is cursed! Lets hope they don't keep pushing the date back.
I'd rather it slips & is "correct" as a game rather than rushed & patched.
How about taking out the retarded "Must have Live" to play
Hah judging bye the signatures so far I don't think you are going to get to much agreement there.
You'll find I agree with Jeff on his point, Brett. I understand the reasoning behind it (allegedly security & laziness, basically), but I still don't like it.
Fair enough. I don't think it's a good idea to make it so that you must have live to play but if it produces a better online system and gives them time to work out whatever needs to be worked out then I see that as a good thing. I do not know to much about this game but I believe that it is the same version that was available for Dreamcast and the same one that is available for Gamecube. If this is the case then I would much rather see an excellent online experience then a single player one that has been done twice before.
Didn't the japanese version come with a keyboard adapter? It doesn't sound like there is one for the U.S. release.
As much as I love (loved?) PSO, I'd actually prefer that they just cancelled this release and actually started working on a new (gasp!) PSO game.
I did a little digging and found a link to the Japanese Xbox page, with the USB keyboard adapter pictured. It looks like it might plug into the memory card slot(?!).
I dunno. I might cancel my order. I just don't feel like devoting so much time to the same game again.
Hmm I have not played any version for more then 10 minutes so I am going to just say that I don't know what I'm talking about, sense I probably don't.
Taken from TeamXbox Forums
Text input device for Phantasy Star Online.
1. Text Input Device 1 is only an adapter that allows the user to plug in a USB keyboard into your Xbox controller.
2. This ONLY works for PSO; not in the dashboard and not with any other games.
3. Will only be available for purchase online.
4. The current methodology for distributing the product is through www.xbox.com only (The user will get there through a flyer enclosed in the PSO packaging, fill out form ONLINE and receive the unit through the mail/NO OTHER WAY)
5. The unit is FREE, except S&H of $6.95
6. Our on-line version of PSO SUPPORTS VOICE/research shows players in Japan LOVE voice communication in this game; it goes without saying that our North American IB already loves voice...
(there's a pic - silver with a blue plug that goes into the controller where the memory card goes... I can't see the side where the keyboard plugs in, and it looks like this TID1 might block the second hole for the memory card... not a biggie, but wanted to make that observation-SG2K)
This adapter will be available on-line only on 3/25, launch date of PSO."
Very interesting news!
This title seems so mired in BS and uncertainty that I'm just going to skip it. What are they going to want next, a lien on my house during the sign up to make sure they all get a piece? Screw em, I show my dis-satisfaction by not ever buying the game.

What if we are interested, but our stores are slow getting the game in? That's fairly regular around here. I don't know if I'd use the KB but it would seem kind of strange without it (ah, missing my DC).
This is a dumb question:
With voice communication through the Live headset, what on earth would you need a keyboard for?
