Thanks for the info. If known, please post the 1.90 file size for the download from the Sony web site (for those who download to computer rather than directly to PS3). Thanks.

What does "add bookmarks" mean? Is that something for games or web content? Or could it mean movies?

The web browser has always had bookmarks so it must be something else. I downloaded 1.9 last night but didn't have time to play with it too much. I updated thru the xmb over the internet and didn't have to connect the controller with the cable which is a nice unadvertised feature. :)

That right there should be listed in the "Features list!" I always hated having to plug the controller in. It seemed totally unnecessary....

What'll really bake your noodle is the fact that this happens BEFORE the firmware is installed (but after download).

Does that mean, it was actually a feature of the prior firmware?

Anyway, does anyone know what the actual difference between Bitmap 1 and Bitmap 2 is? Most of us seemed to think the bitmapping only affected SACD peformance, but now there's talk it may affect the upscaled CD output as well.

So far mine's still set to 1. I did find the 176 upscaling preferable to my Philips SACD player's 192 CD upscaling (some folks at AVS were marveling that the PS3 was doing 176 over optical, but my player did 192 over optical like 5 years ago), perhaps because it's a direct multiple of 44.1. The 192 sounded a bit muddy in comparison.

I'll have to do some swithing with 1 and 2 to check out the differences.
