I was considering getting the ps2 network adapter but was concerned if the service is any good. I know it wont compare to xbox live but is it worth the 40 bucks? Are there many people on the service?

It depends on the game. X-Box Live uses Microsoft servers for all the games, whereas a PS2 online game has servers set up by the developers/publishers of the individual game and they're not connected with other games. The servers are not all run by the same company.

The only game I've really played is Amplitude, and it's been pretty full.

i'll mainly just play atv offroad fury 2 and socom. I'm sure both of those will have good servers and be pretty full.
