My new PS2 memory card just came in two days ago from EBGames.com. They seem to have more available, but if they don't keep checking the site. That's what I did and I finally got one.

I've had good luck finding PS2 cards at Target in GA. Good luck.

It amazes me that over a year after the launch of the console Sony is still having trouble keeping the Memory Card in stock at retailers.

Just saw a batch at my local Toys R Us (of all places) in Atlanta. This on top of the 3 I found at my local Target three weeks ago.

BEST BUY in my area has a whole bunch (SONY brand).

I was able to FINALLY buy a "back-up" memory card (I don't like third party accessories).

I'm close to 80% complete on Gran Turismo 3 and if my memory were ever to get wiped out I'd be pissed...I probably wouldn't play the game anymore!

Having a back-up card is a relief to that fear.

so was this shortage only applicable to the Sony memory card or all others? I saw plenty of third party cards around, and was confused when people spoke of a shortage.
