pS2 Decoder? (1 Viewer)

I have never really paid attention to the ps2 when it comes to playing dvd movies, but I saw something that made me wonder.

On a dvd rom game it showed the DD 5.1 on the game. Does the ps2 have an optical output that gives off a DD5.1 audio signal??

Yes it does.

Very few games have Dolby Digital .. MGS2 comes to mind (it has it in cut scenes).

A few games have DTS in game. GTA Vice City and one of the SSX games have it, as do several others.

The dvd player will output DD 5.1 and DTS 5.1 via this optical out port.
