My receiver doesn't have DD or DTS decoding built in, so right now, I use the DD decoder in my DVD player (A Sony 350 I think). I'm getting a PS2 soon, and was wondering if it will also decode the audio so that I can take advantage of the 5.1 built into games & dvds.

Couldn't find this info in either the Sony FAQ, or here on the board.

BTW, does anyone have a PDF of the PS2 manual? Thanks.

Don,

You WILL need a DD/DTS receiver or a standalone decoder in order to get DD and/or DTS out of the PS2.

Smeg. Ah well, guess its time to buy a new receiver. This one's been acting kinda strange lately anyway. Thanks for the info guys.

Once you get it, you'll wonder how you ever got along without it! Don't forget the digital optical cable too.
