    2 Questions

    1) Afterbuilding my dedicated HT I need to extend my controllers to the seating area from the equipment closet. I found the following options on Amazon. Anybody have any experience with any of these?

    GEMINI ACCESS Recoil 10 ft. Multi-Platform Extension Cable (10') - $7.99
    Monster Cable PSFP-7 FreePlay for Playstation 2 (7') - $21.83
    HIP INTERACTIVE Extension Cable & Spool for PS2 (8') - $4.99
    PS2 Controller Extension Cable - Intec (6') - $9.89

    2) I also want to hook up my PS2 with component and optical
    a) can I use any old optical cable?
    b) I know there is a hatred toward Monster (I have it too), but is there any advantage over the basic sony component cables

    Thanks.

    1. I have one of those (Intec I think). It works, of course, but to extend your controllers go wireless (Logitech is very good). You won't go back to wires.

    2. a) Yes, b) No

I had concerns over wireless as the PS2 console will be behind me (10-12 feet) in a component closet with a 1.75 solid wood door. Will teh signal get through OK. Will it introduce lag?

Yes, the signal will be fine at 12 feet or more through walls even (sheetrock) so I doubt the cabinet will be a problem. There is no lag that I've noticed with the Logitech.
