Two years ago TCM showed a restored version of a wonderful Michael Curtiz directed with Alan Ladd & Olivia de Havilland. Awash in the public domain are shocking releases claiming digitally restored.

Where is the newly restored version? Why is it not released - Warner hold the rights to Samuel Goldwyn films.

This film was originally a Buena Vista release. It ended up with the Samuel Goldwyn company. WB wouldn't have this film now as it was not directly produced by Goldwyn (WB has all the Goldwyn-produced films except "The Hurricane", which is currently with original distributor UA). The people you should probably be asking is MGM, which has the non-Goldwyn-produced films that became part of the Orion library.
