Let’s dig into Prophecy.
Following a great run in the 1960’s, director John Frankenheimer had a run of fits and starts with his output in the 1970’s. This was exemplified with films that had some varying degrees of critical or commercial success like The Iceman Cometh (1973), French Connection II (1975) and Black Sunday (1977); yet for each of those films, there were disappointments like I Walk the Line (1970), 99 and 44/100% Dead! (1974) and The Horsemen (1971), though the latter was one of Frankenheimer’s personal favorites. Following Black Sunday – which got good notices despite falling below expectations at the box office – Frankenheimer delivered quite possibly the most bizarre entry in his filmography, the ecological horror film Prophecy. Previously released on DVD by Paramount and on Blu-ray by Scream Factory, Kino has licensed the movie for its UHD Blu-ray debut.

Thx for the review. This was an a Showtime or HBO Movie of the minute back in the day that I used to catch frequently. Ordered the disc as I haven’t seen it in years.
