J&R has the the Phillips Pronto TS1000 on sale for $129. It is a factory refurbished unit with full warranty. Sound like a good deal?

Does this Pronto eat through batteries? The accompanying battery/charger is $39.95.

Bill no the pronto will last approx 4-6 months on a set of good batteries so buy a bulk pack from costco and forget about the charger.

Thanks, Andy...BTW, I've bookmarked your HT home page with particular interest regarding the Pronto link. To Ted Lee, that appears to be the model on sale. I just ordered up a unit from J&R. Please note, that upon further investigation, the $129 price is available from J&R from a recent promotional flyer mailed to previous customers. The website price, I believe is $149.
