Anyone picked up the re-issue of Prom Night?

I know Anchor Bay said they wouldn't revisit the title anytime soon, and it looks like a different company released this version on May 11, 2004. I can't find anything about the title other than it's going for 6.99 at amazon.com.

Is it just a recycled VHS transfer? Cause if some care went into this release I'd definitely pick it up... but for that price, it doesn't seem likely that it's of quality...

I have the Platinum version, bought it at Wal-Mart for $5.50...the daylight scenes are fair although the colors are washed out.
The biggest problem is the nighttime scenes. It's really too dark to see what's going on most of the time. Another problem is the audio, i have to turn up the volume to understand what's being said and some things i still can't make out. Overall, a very poor transfer and if you decide to buy it like i did..don't expect much or you will be very disappointed.

Thought I'd post in this thread instead of starting a new one.

With it being the 30th anniversary of the original Prom Night (starring Jamie Lee Curtis and Leslie Nielsen) this year, I would have thought a special edition DVD might have been released.

I know, right! Something like this should be done by Code Red. I'm sick that this series gets lackluster treatment on DVD.
