Projectors sub $1000 (1 Viewer)

Hello everyone-

I'm looking for a projector to hook up to my laptop. I need a very cheap one but not so cheap that it's not going to work. I'm only going to be displaying images with it. Not going to be watching movies or doing presentations with it etc.

Anyone have any suggestions on what I could get that is sub $1000??

Infocus X1 springs to mind. There are 2 different models; X1 (discontinued) with a Faroudja DCDi vid processor and the newer X1a without. DCDi is only good for movies or TV so you should be fine with the X1a.

You might also consider buying something used. I actually just picked up a 5 year old Sharp LCD (1024x768) 1500 lumens for less than $1000. Something like that might work for you, although used projectors are also generally bigger. I'm actually considering selling it since I've already got another.

for use with a computer solely I'd say look for an older used projector for low low $$.
