    Hello!

We are trying to purchase a video projector to be used in a samll cafateria/coffee house on campus. We will use it for TV and some DVD/VHS events. It will be difficult to make the room very dark.

I am looking for some abilities that this unit must have.
Also an explanation of the difference between home theatre quaility and a data projector.

Do we need 3:2 pull down?
Do we need both a 4:3 and 16:9 Aspect Ratio?
How high should the contrast and Ansi numbers be?
How does HDTV figure into all of this.

Thank you for any help you could give.

    Mike

Depends on how much you care about HDTV. Many projectors can sync to a HDTV feed, although most cheaper ones downscale it slightly. If you want to do HDTV, just make sure your projector can sync to the HDTV resolution (I think the database on Projectorcentral.com lists HDTV compatibility).
