Progressive Scan Better? (1 Viewer)

I Just got a Toshiba 50 inch HD WideScreen, but even with my second generation player set to animorphic widescreen I can still see some artifacts especially during fast moving scenes.
My friends tell me it's perfect but I know it could be better becouse I've seen better.
I Wonder would a Progressive scan DVD Player clear this up & smooth it out?

Depends on what you're seeing. I see less aliasing with progressive scan, but still see many artifacts on mediocre discs. By nature, DVD is going to have artifacts since it's based on MPEG compression. If anything a progressive scan player which is doing minimal image processing will just should show those artifacts more clearly. A properly encoded disc will reduce these, hence the existence of superbit discs, and a progressive scan DVD player will more clearly show the detail on good discs. A poorly encoded disc will show artifacts up the wazoo on any TV and DVD player.

Thanks for all your help guys.
I made upi my mind & decided to get a progressive scan DVD player. (just got it today)
The difference is like night & day!
Progressive is much better than interlaced!
I'm happy.
