    Anyone,

Can Progressive DVD signal only be used with Component in/outs? Will S-Video work. I have an older Trinitron that has neither (only composite) but I want to know what to look for when I upgrade my TV.

Also, as I have never used Component hook-ups I was surprised to see that that my Sony STR-DE945 Receiver only has S-Video or Composite ins on it. Is that normal? Currently I am using DigitalCoax from my DVD to my receiver for the audio (obviously) but was just thinking how I would hook up a progressive DVD player in the future.

    Thanks for your help.
