Prog DVD with Sony HS10 (1 Viewer)

I just got a progressive scan DVD player, Sony DVPNS700P, but when I dial it up from the interlaced output to TV(Sony HS5310) input #4, to the progressive scan output to TV input #5, the picture seems WORSE. It appears to be softer with alot more red saturation. I have set all the DVD settings to as neutral a position as I could determine. My main source material for comparison has been the Springsteen DVD, but other discs seem to exhibit the same phenomenon. Any thoughts?

I think you should run Avia or VE again with a progressive scan signal to make sure things are even steven. Then make up your mind.

When I first went progressive scan I too thought it got softer. After an hour or so, I see it as much more natural and film like. I can't stand going interlaced anymore...
