I am really enjoy this show, but i hate the break for christmas its so long.
Good return episode. The reveal of where the Junkyard Killer was keeping Malcolm, and the implications of that, were appropriately horrifying. The final sequence had The Shining vibes, particularly with the axe through the door.
Can’t stand the mother or sister in this show but otherwise a fan.
Just once I'd like to see an Internal Affairs investigation where the IA people aren't either a) incompetent morons with an axe to grind; or b) corrupt and secretly the bad guys, or on the bad guys' payroll.
This episode definitely fell into the latter category, but I appreciated that the psychiatrist was at least somewhat competent at his profession, breaking through the deflection that Bright uses with everybody else. And by the end of the episode, there were signs of actual growth.
The danger of this story is that it shines a spotlight on the show's single least plausible element: That the NYPD would hire and continue to employ someone with Bright's ongoing history of instability.
Tonight's episode had everything I love about this show: a pulpy, over the top mystery; some interesting family drama; and some very twisted humor.
