problems with HD OTA BC (1 Viewer)

I bought a radio shack powered antenna and it looks similar to the Terk but for now, until i can find someone to get up on my roof, i have it in the same room as the tv on the banister. everytime we walk by we lose the picture, 2 channels work fine if we don't move but the signal for CBS is like 71 out of a hundered. thats what i get from the satellite receiver. would it make a world of difference once its outside? or is it marginal? I've been through 3 different antennas due to the incompetence of sales people, they know nothing of HD OTA yet talk like they are pros, we just starting broadcasting in this city at the beggining of this month. I knew they were talking out of their butt when they even know where the stations where broadcasting from. any help? thanks for the advice in advance.

Try this site..it is a big help with the type of antenna needed for your area in your proximity to the digital towers..
