Has anyone had any problems with Denon A/V receivers? I'm thinking about buying one from an internet co, and I want to reduce the chancesof me having to haggle with them. I'm mostly interested in a Denon 2802 or 3802, any problems there?

Generally no, Denon is high quality.
When I was installing I had a couple of 5800's go bad after I installed them(wouldn't turn on), but who knows what the customer was doing with them. I found out 1 customer actually put his 5800 outside to power outside speakers[IMG]
Denon = quality, and I wouldn't worry about it.

Just got my 10 month old AVR-3300 back from the shop. Fortunately still under (1yr)warranty. Would not play on anything except stereo. Digital processor evidently went bad, had to order one in from Denon which took over 2 weeks. It worked ok otherwise before that. Just my experience.

I have an AVR3200 and an AVR3300, I love them both and haven't had a problem with either. I need to upgrade of course. Paradigm Studio 100's although they sound great with the 3300, I would love to hear them with more power.

The remotes aren't the greatest, they get the job done, but there not much to look at, but I don't listen to my remote. Do you?

    Good luck

I had a bad 5700 once. And after two trips to Denon headquarters, it was replaced with a new one. Four more receivers since then, and not a single problem.

Their DVD players are a different story though...

I have a 5800 and no problems here. Seem to be quite well built.

The best way to acess if a receiver has a tendency to problems is to look at the reviews at www.audioreview.com
There you can see if a reciever have some sort of recurrent problem.

I bought a 3801 about 9 months ago and haven't had a single problem, not even the tiniest little thing. I love it and I'd recommend it to anyone.
