I setup a Bose Lifestyle home theater system for a friend yesterday. I attached the speakers to the bass / music storage unit with the RCA male to plug connectors. I then attached the cat 5 to S-video connector to the " main " input on the dvd / receiver. Sound can be heard from the front channel speakers, but not the surrounds or bass module. i connected the digital outputs from an Dish network receiver and an Panasonic blu-ray player respectively. I cannot figure out from the remote how to playback sound from the coaxial and optical digital outputs. Can anyone give me advice on how to get this system working?

Since you didn't mention the model number of the Lifestyle system. I would suggest that you go to the Bose website and down load the owners manual for that system and look for speaker set up to make sure you are in surround mode. Some models come with an auto speaker calibration which you may need to run other units you must calibrate the speakers manually.
