it seems that everytime i format powerDVDXP coughs up some kind of problem. This time whenever i select SPDIF in the audio tab it just doesn't DO IT. Everytime i select SPDIF and come back to the audio tab after pressing ok, it goes back to the selection BEFORE i selected SPDIF (2 speaker mode).

Anyone know a solution for this? I already reinstalled powerDVD XP, unticked the AC3 Decode tab, checked the digital output tab only.

BTW, my soundcard is an Audigy Platinum

    nevermind.... I solved it.

turns out the onboard audio on my 7DXR was enabled for some reason and powerDVD XP was using that as my soundcard instead of the audigy. Now, i don't freakin know how the hell that thing got turned on (i turned it off the moment i got this board). Well anyway, you live and you learn.
