I have had this receiver for about 2 months now with no problems at all. This afternoon I watched a movie and everything worked fine. Tonight I turned it on and after a split second I get a click and then it shuts off. It now does this every time. It will stay on for about a second and then automatically shut off. I know that it is just something that I am doing wrong and not a problem with my receiver. Probably something very simple. If anyone could help me out with a suggestion I would appreciate it.

I figured out what the problem was. I didn't have the impedance selector set properly. It says to set it to the left(6 ohms) or to the right(8 ohms). Which of these is best? My speakers are fairly small. I really don't know what impedance means.

look at the manual of the speakers or the back of the speakers and see what is written - what ohm load the speakers are.
    it is expressed in ohms
