Has anyone had a problem with the digital coax input? I just purchased the 5300 and when I listen to my digital cable box the sound drops and a loud shrill squel comes out of a speaker, or a poping noise from another speaker.
    Thanks,

Nope. Is it only when listening to your cable box via digital? Try analog if possible, or optical digital if these are available off your box. It may be the box, or crappy reception or something. Does this happen to other sources?

I would try to get this figured out, you don't want to damage your speakers...

Try changing out your cable. You MUST use a 75Ohm cable, NOT an audio cable. Try out any decent video cable, which are all 75 Ohm.

Thanks, I was using a digital cable. My JVC never had this problem with the same setup. I took the receiver back to the dealer and got a new one. So far this new unit seems to be working.
    Thanks
