Hi! I'm just listening to Madman Across the Water for the first time. It sounds fantastic, aside from one small problem. When the tracks change, I hear a slight, static pop. Do any of you notice this when listening to the multi-channel layer? It's the only disc on which I've ever noticed this. Thanks for any input.

I will give it another listen, but did not notice anything when I first played it. I thought it was a wonderful MC mix.

Might be the player. Early players had problems muting and then unmuting in between tracks.

Haven't noticed this, but will check it and report back.

Thanks, Kevin, but it's a relatively new player, and this is the only disc on which I notice the problem. I appreciate you guys listening to see if you hear the noise. I just want to know if I should try to exchange mine for another copy. Thanks so much!

Btw...the volume must be fairly loud to hear the pop.

I had no problems with the disc when listening to the multi-channel layer on my setup.

No problems on my system either. Is it between all songs, or only a specific pair? I only checked tracks one and two.

It's between all the tracks. Thanks for all your help, everyone. I tried to exchange the disc today, but none of the Best Buys in my area had another copy. I'll just have to try again before my return period is up. Other than these minor pops, the disc sounds fantastic. Even if I don't get this taken care of, I'll still enjoy the disc. Thanks again, guys!

I have a Pioneer DV-578A. I know it has a history of pops between tracks on the stereo layer of SACD's, but I'm listening to the MC layer. Also, I've listened to the stereo layers of several discs and the MC layers of many more, and this is the only time I've noticed this problem. I'm left believing it's the disc. What do you think?

I'm quessing it's a player quirk. Mine doesn't do it with a Denon player, ex-tree loud. My brother-in-law has had his Elite 45 do a number of weird things and refuse some purr-fectly good discs too.

I have the Pioneer DV-563 model and I have noticed this problem with Fleetwood Mac's Rumours DVD-A. It does it once between two of the tracks but I don't recall which tracks.
