Problem Recording From Sat/HD Receiver (1 Viewer)

Ok,
I have my Toshiba DST3000 Sat Rcvr hooked to my Onkyo receiver via component cables. I also have the DST3000 hooked to my Mitsubishi SVHS via S-Vid cable and analog sound. The SVHS is then connected directly to my TV (Toshiba 43H70).
The SVHS can play tapes but it is not recording. Any ideas?
This is driving me nuts.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Make sure that you switch off the Hi-Def mode on the sat rcvr. There is no signal sent out the composite and S-video outputs when the sat rcvr is in the HD mode. You can only output either HD or SD but not both at the same time. Unfortunately you cannot watch a show in HD and record it at the same time. Good luck.

Jay,
Thanks for your response
I tried that and it did not work. All that happens is that I lose the picture on my TV but still get sound. Yet, nothing records.
Anything else I might try?
Thanks again
