Dear all,

I am using Philips 32" Plama connecting the DVD player with the Plasma Panel directly and skipping the TV box.

When playing some 4:3 or letterboxed DVDs, the Plasma doesn't allow me to change the viewing mode (picture format) to "4:3" or "16:9 movie expand".

What frustrated me most is: some DVDs are ok (allow me to switch), but some not OK..

Could someone tell me why and how to fix it please? THanks a lot! :emoji_thumbsup:

Couple of questions

1. how is the player connected? Component? DMCI? Is the player set to 16:9 display or 3:4 display.

2. what are the DVDs and their native aspect ratio?

If you're connected to a digital input, then it's likely that you can't scale the signal.

It seems that digital connections remove some options, but since I don't have a digital signal source to test, it's only a guess (the 4805 accepts a digital input but I don't have anything to feed it).

John

It's also possibly the way the dvd was authored.
