I currently have a 10 year old Pioneer receiver that uses Dolby Pro Logic. How will it handle Dolby Digital and DTS soundtracks?

Tim, the short answer is, it will not handle DD or DTS. But it will handle the normal red and white connections out of the back of a DVD player. You will get sound as good or better then you've ever heard before out of your prologic system but it will not be DD or DTS. Wayne.

due to the receiver's age, i'll assume it doesn't have multi-channel inputs either???

if not, you're only option is to upgrade the receiver. but hey...that ain't such a bad thing! [IMG]

I figured I would have to upgrade. That sounds great to me, but my wife keeps reminding me that I just spent $2200 on a widescreen.

    Thanks
