Prince on DVD petition!!! (1 Viewer)

Ok I have to start a petition on one of my favorite artists to bring his work to the digital glory that is DVD with pristing transfers and slamming sound and behind the scenes features of the making of these films. Hopefully WB and Universal will note this post/petition.

Purple Rain (at least give as a cleaned up version in OAR and wayyy better sound that doesn't switch in the middle of Purple Rain)

Sign me up for all the Prince movies on DVD!
I also would like a complete Warner Bros. video collection. "The Hits" is sadly missing many key videos from Prince's Warner days. It was as if they just ported teh VHS directly onto DVD, when DVD can hold so much more info. I want all the videos!
Also would kill for a widescreen Purple Rain SE> There used to be a bootleg floating around of deleted scenes with Prince & Apollonia making love in a barn, with actual Purple Rain falling from the sky outside. I want that on DVD. Also perhaps they could get the film's director to do a commentary? It would be interesting, especially since Prince would never do one for Warner.

Count me in on the Prince films on DVD. I think they should include any music videos from the soundtrack and deleted scenes. Oh, and all presented in their OAR.

I wouldn't be surprised if WB withheld these titles out of spite for their relationship troubles with Prince. I've never seen Cherry Moon, but heard it was reviewed remarkably well. I'd love to take a look.

I too would like to see these released - and Purple Rain released PROPERLY... But I agree that Warner's relationship with Prince is more than likely the reason this has not happened and unfortunately, is not likely to happen...

The current version of PURPLE RAIN is an atrocity! As others have mentioned, the prospects of us ever receiving a beautifully done special edition appear very slim.

That said, give it a shot Warner. I'll buy two - I promise!

Why can't we have the full concert from the Prince hits collection DVD? They only give us the live concert version of "I would die for you" Why tease us???????
Also please revisit "Purple Rain" and present it in it's OAR.

Count me in! I have purchased all the Prince DVD's released to date and would purchase any new ones or a re-release of Purple Rain.. Anything except the new CD "The Very Best of Prince".. That is such a blatant attempt to make money from the same music in a new package....

Ah...Purple Rain....
Have not, nor intent to buy what is currently on the market. Needs to be featured in the original ratio and better sound.
(Then again, so do the many early releases from WB.)
