    Budget question here -

I had looked at$ 3,000 level projectors, and $12,000 projectors.

    I can see a difference.

But - is it really worth it - my total budget is about 30K including 10K for construction.

So you have about $20K for equipment? Personally I would spend on better audio (amps and speakers) and get a "decent" projector that has at least 1280x720 resolution. There are many HD2+ projectors that probably fit your needs like the Sharp 12K for instance. Also, there are a batch of projectors coming out in the next month I think.

I think neil is right, if you want to go digital, the best return, IMO, are the HD2+ units, which are around 10K,(or less now, I dunno, I don't follow prices that much).

CRT if you design it into your plans will be better and cheaper, but that's a route that takes a tad bit more gumption. If you are a videophile, then it's probably the route though.
