Hey all. I'm thinking about putting this baby up for sale after the first of the year for either a DLP or LCD set, 60". Leaning toward Sony (which I'm kicking myself over the thought, not very good luck with Sony in the past) or Hitachi for the LCD (I work at Best Buy, my girl at Circuit City . . . best of both worlds!), Samsung for the DLP. I'm tired of never being satisfied with the convergence, black level, etc. I'm just wondering what you guys think a fair price would be for my 73411. I paid about 2700 for it, I was hoping to at least recover my cost. It's very rare one of these pops up on ebay, which is usually the best barometer for pricing. Anyway, please let me know your opinions on this. As I said I work at Best Buy, and I've been against buying an LCD projo, but I've been seriously considering it recently. I know most of the pros and cons of the two, but if anyone has anything to add, or just to tell me to keep my set, whatever, let me know. I'm all about having the most information I can. Thanks!!

If you get half of what you paid for it, I'd be surprised!
Why not look at plasma as another choice. The PQ is more 3D like to my eyes than the 2 formats you suggested.
You're correct about Sony. Their support and quality leaves something to be desired, especially for the premium price you have to pay!

I forgot to say that the set is not even a year old, I'll have had it for a year in Feb. I don't care for plasma, to get the PQ out of a plasma that I'd want it would be way out of my price range. Plus most of my use of the set is for video games, so I don't want to have to worry about burn in.

Makes no difference!
It's like a car, it looses alot of value in the first year!

Dang nice set... but used TV's go way down in resale.

I'll be curious as to what you can sell it for.

That's the 73"'r right? $2700 is a dang good price, and 1 year ago it was an even better price on it.

Can I ask what you don't like about it? It consistantly gets rave reviews ya know. I've drooled over it a few times myself.

A couple of things, as I mentioned before I'm just tired of convergence, geometry, all that crap that goes on with RPTV's. Second, I'm around a lot of the newest technologies available and I just want something better. Third, it's a hair too big for my room. The screen size is perfect (I'd love the 70" XBR, but it's out of my price range and I'm not a big Sony fan), but it's a little too tall. If the base were maybe 3 inches shorter it'd be perfect. Those are the main reasons. I'm a bit of a perfectionist (without perfectionist $$$, so I've never had an ISF calibration) and not having to drive myself crazy noticing convergence problems would be a big relief. I'm thinking of putting it out on ebay for about 2400 with the service plan, plus shipping. Figure it can't hurt. I can get the 62" Toshiba DLP for about 2600, which ain't too shabby. Gonna do some more research on the set though and gather opinions. So if anybody knows anyone who wants a 73" tv in excellent condition, let me know! Someone in Tampa or South Florida would be best, no shipping!
