If that is the case then i'd at least get some sort of seperation of channels by my reciever via dolby pro logic based on what you're saying here. That would tide me over until I upgrade my reciever. If that is the case then there is no sense in buying a x-a2. An A2 which is cheaper could do the same thing with it's 2 anolog outs correct?
Their is a price war on XA2s now. So you can see retailers going below $599 and offering free gifts with purchase to make the deal even more compelling.
