I'm having my family room repainted. Now is the time to run wire behing the walls. I can patch holes and paint afterwards. I want to run wire from the TV/reciever area to potential speaker locations. I may not use those locations and I want to know if anyone can answer these questions:

    1) What kind of wire should I run?

    2) How can I terminate the wires at the wall so that it looks nice if not used (sort of like the cable tv outlet)?

I have exactly what Ed listed (2Cond 12ga) and the plates and I have not been disappointed. It looks very finished.
