Where could I get a half-way decent preamp and not spend so much money. I have an integrated amp right now and have to run it on my headphone jack from my reciever. Any ideas? Or maybe a simple solution for clean output and volume control?

I am using my receiver (Yamaha RX-V995) as a preamp with very good results. It's only a 5.1 channel receiver, but my Anthem amp is only a 5 channel job so I'm not too worried about the missing rear center surround for 6.1 movies.

Can you explain a bit more about your integrated amp and why you are having to run it on the headphone jack from your receiver?
