I am in the process of updating this. What would you add?

    1) DD EX, DTS-ES, DPL II
    2) DSP mode(s) to expand 2.0 through 5.1 sources to 6.1/7.1
    3) 24/192 DACs and ADCs
    4) 5.1 analog passthrough with analog bass management
    5) 2 channel analog passthrough with analog BM
    6) flexible digital BM (slopes & crossovers for each speaker)
    7) at least 1 digital record out
    8) inputs: analog (VCR, lp, cassette, tuner) and coax (DAT, DVD/CD, CD-R/RW)
    9) outputs: 3 analog record outs (DAT, CD-R/RW, cassette)
    10) nameable, assignable inputs
    11) proper distance/delays for all speakers independently
    12) "cinema re-eq" and THX Ultra2 desired
    13) useable, dedicated remote (low bat use)
    14) CD/PCM upsampling
    15) no noticeable hiss, lock on delay, or input cross-talk
    16) operation by front panel display only (OSD not needed)
    17) parametric EQ/notch filter for sub/mains

    Yeah, "dream" list. [IMG]
Obviously, nothing out there with 24/192 ADCs...
    If I prioritized: 1, 4, 2, 24/192 DACs, crossovers from 6, 11, 7 is required, 15, 8 & 9 should be easy, etc. Oh, for $2000 or less street price.
Basically, any new or existing pre/pro (or receiver-as-a-pre pro) out there, I've compared to this list.
When a particular unit gets close enough, bam, pull the trigger. The Outlaw is still winning, once the hiss is fixed.
Just was curious as to what other's are looking for in their next pre/pro (or r-a-a-p/p).
(Don't care about video switching for example. I go direct.)

    Those would be nice.

(Except that for me, my amps don't have them, and that would probably push the unit to more than a $2k street price I'm guessing.)
