Just wondering because i'm looking into a :
    Preamplifier- Audiosource Pre One/A
would this be any good for a yamaha rx-v1400 avr with pre-outs but no pre-ins that i can see,any inputs on this subject would be greatly appreciated.

what kind of quality is audiosource by the way?

    thanks

Actually, by “no pre ins” you really mean “no amp (main) ins.” If you don’t have those, you can’t use a pre amp, because you won’t have access to the Yamaha’s amplifiers.

However, if the 1400 has a tape monitor loop (with a switch labeled as such), you could use the tape inputs instead.

We have to wonder, however, why you want to use a stereo pre-amp with a surround sound receiver?
