What's the difference between a passive radiator based sub and a ported sub ? Is one better than the other for HT or music ? Thanks.

Thanks guy's.. I'm not sure what they mean when they say a PR sub has a sound all it's own ? I wonder what the difference in sound is from the Denali vs. SVS Ultra o PB2 i'm considering ? I know what a ported tube sub sounds like. Hmmm...
