I have used my desktop in conjunction with my desk top dell (ati card with dvi to component adapter) to display on my HDTV. It's a direct view philips 30" wide.

Here's my problem. I get large horizontal lines (2 to 3 inches vertically, the whole way across the screen) scrolling from top to bottom. They take time to fade away even after I disconnect the computer. And they appear on every input/source.

Does anyone have any suggestions?? Thanks in advance.

I have the same problem, but on a smaller scale. The bands started appearing after I added a Pioneer DVD recorder to my
home theater set-up. I posted this problem on another forum & got mostly the same answer - add a signal booster to the cable line. I tried this & it did not solve the problem (All I got was a cleaner picture along with more vivid magenta bands.) If anyone has had this same problem & has successfully solved please share.
