My new home is near completion and I need to figure out how to hook up 6 in celing speakers, which will only play music, to a receiver so that they all output the same signal. I have an old JVC 5.1 receiver that I considered using but I never thought about the hook ups! Should I get a cheapo mono receiver? I'm only playing FM stations and my iPod through these speakers.
The theater has it's own seperate speakers, cables, receiver, etc.
Oh yea, there are two volume controls upstairs.

Does your receiver have a zone 2 powered? Here is what I did. I've got an old Sony 5.1 that powers 4 in walls upstairs. (The Amp is in the basement) I used the A and B, or zone 1 and 2 powered front speaker outputs. I use a leapfrog IR repeater for volume control. You could do the same thing with 6 speakers. use zone 1 and 2, and your 5th and 6th speakers could be on your rear channels. set your receive to "ALL CHANNEL STEREO" if you have such an options, and that should do it.

Thanks. The receiver does have zone 1 and 2. Not sure about the all channel stereo but I'll look into it! [IMG]
