Hey all, a pretty basic and simple question, but is it safe to leave your powered subwoofer on all the time even when not in use? thanks.

    Yup, no problem.

FWIW, I leave almost all of my gear on. Except for the TV, XBOX, VCR (never use it any more), and DVD (auto shutoff).

It seems that most these days come with an "auto on" circuit. For those that do not, I would say it's safe to leave it on. I would turn it off if you're not going to be using it for awhile, like if you were to take a vacation.

Yes, you can leave it on but if it has a auto-on feature use it.
When it reads a signal coming from your reciever it will automatically come on and shut off when there is no signal for 20-30 minutes.

I leave mine on, becasue I have a line level cable running a mile from my AVR to it, and the auto-on feature is iffy at best with the ultra long cable.

FWIW, I just asked this same question to Paradigm about the PDR-8 which does not have an auto shut-off. They said it should be turned off when not in use. [IMG]

Although, I can't imagine what would be wrong with leaving the sub on all the time, being the paranoid that I am, I decided to get a Smart Strip power strip so that I can have the sub turn on and off in conjunction with the receiver.

I wouldn’t sweat it. Either way, on or off you will be fine.
