Powered Sub power cord question (1 Viewer)

Hello,

I just re-arranged my home theater equipment (to make my wife happy ) and the new location for the sub-woofer creates a small problem with regards to the power cord. My powered sub has a cord that is 8ft. in length (18 ga). Unfortunately the run to my Monster Power bar is approx. 10ft. I have the cord plugged in to a run-of-the mill surge protector and then into the Power bar. Should I replace the power cord with something like the PINNACLE AC Power Supply Cord by Panamax? It is 12ga., will this be ok?

Any help would greatly be appreciated!

that or buy a length of cord from HD and rewire the sub...

I agree. It's not a good idea to have multiple connections in a power cord such as what you've described.
