    Hello,

Is there any reason why I cannot plug my rack of 5 Adcom power amplifiers into a "switched" AC outlet?

We're re-modeling our HT room and will be placing all of the gear in an adjacent room. We're wiring the room so that the source components will be on one 20amp circuit, while the amplifiers will be on another 20amp circuit. I'd like to make it easier to turn all the power amps on/off at one time and thought about making this a "switched" outlet controlled by a standard wall switch at the entry of the HT room.

Is there any reason why this approach would cause problems? Could damage be done to the amps, etc?

    Thanks,

    John G

That's really the way to go. I've got mine wired that way and have had no problems.....the same at my church. The amps are under the stage, so they're turned on with a switched outlet.
