I couldn't find a thread covering this too much.

Does anyone know of some good places to buy some inexpensive poster frames 27"x41" or 27 x 40 ?

They don't have to be aluminum but something descent.

    Thanks

I'd be interested in this as well. I have some frames that looked good using crown molding and a mitre saw.

The 27"x40" frames are extremely hard to find, and when you do you're looking at atleast $50 and up a peice. For this reason i make all my poster purchases 24" x 36". This way I can get good looking thicker frames (two-tone black/gold, solid gold, or solid silver) at walmart for $15 each for the HT room or cheap thin solid black frames for $10 each for the bedroom. You're saving a little money on the posters and alot on the frams, and the size difference isn't noticable unless you put it beside a 27" x 40" poster.

    Hope this helps [IMG]

Suncoast/Media Play carries a couple of models of 27x40 poster frames. There's spiffy black plastic and another wood kind (I forget what shade). They are like $20 and $25 if I recall. I use the black plastic ones - I like them a lot! I hunted all over to find some and ended up finding the Suncoast ones when I went in to pick up some anime. Good luck finding them anywhere else (I had no luck @ Walmart, Kmart, Meijer, Target, etc).

Sorry, Ikea is a big-box chain of budget furniture/decorating stores. I thought you had them in the American South too.

    My appologies.

I believe I did see 27x40 frames in the recent Ikea visit. I was pleasantly surprised. It would have saved me putting together one from components, which turned out to be both expensive and heavy (used glass). My local Bed Bath and Beyond carries a frame designed to hold multiple little photos, but the frame dimension is 27x40. That would be my solution the next go 'round, or maybe Suncoast. The thing is that despite the cost of a nice metal frame and glass (or plexi) it will hold up better than the budget solutions.

I had to dig to find this however....

I ordered 20 from www.Framesusa.com about 2.5 years ago. They cost me 23.50 each and shipping was $46 for the 20.

Each frame had a shine black metal casing with a plexiglass pane. For the price I thought these were an excellent value.!!

    Happy shopping!
